What Does Green Mean?

Over recent years, the sustainability of residential homes has finally started to get the recognition that it deserves. There have been a number of articles such as a recent one featured in The Age that are gaining mainstream press exposure and asking the question, “What does a having a green home mean?”. The article comments on the fact that the author has begun to see a trickle of homes being marketed as being sustainable or “green” and questions what exactly this means and if indeed it is a trend that is likely to continue. While the “trickle” may have started, or at least started to be notices, there certainly is much more that can and should be done with regards to people becoming aware of when a house is and isn’t “green”. If current trends are to continue, then it is more than likely that the trickle will be come at least a stream.
